More than a guardian, this figure embodies refuge. She is the sacred sanctuary where spiritual continuity is preserved from external turbulence. The softness of the sculptural treatment evokes an inviolable interiority, a space of calm offered so that life can grow protected from the storm.

1940s — Athens: Occupation and civil war; she preserves the home and social bonds despite hunger, fear, and daily uncertainty.
